Colors from Tindivanam
In the town of Tindivanam, Tamil Nadu, local artisans produce brightly colored powders used in religious ceremonies and street art such as rangoli. The process involves mixing pigments—sometimes synthetic, sometimes natural—with fine sand and pressing them together using hands and feet. These humble yet vivid materials have found their way into my work over the years. This photo series captures the atmosphere and textures of that world.
Cityscape
An ongoing series capturing glimpses of urban life across continents — from dense streets and quiet canals to ports, factories, and industrial zones. These photographs explore how cities shape — and are shaped by — movement, material, and time, often in stark contrast to the surrounding nature.
The series includes images from Denmark, Iceland, India, Sri Lanka, and Nepal.
Goubert Market, Puducherry
A vibrant heart of Puducherry, Goubert Market is a feast for the senses. I’ve returned here many times over the years, always struck by its raw energy and colour. Voices overlap in lively chatter, the air is thick with the scent of spices and fresh produce, and every corner bursts with the bold hues so characteristic of India. This series captures not just what I see — but what I feel.
Gravel Mining Landscape
Since 2013, I’ve regularly explored the gravel mining landscapes of southern Jutland. Witnessing the deep scars left by material extraction can be both heart-wrenching and thought-provoking. Yet within this transformation lies a strange fascination — a quiet wonder in watching the land continuously reshape itself.
Granite Mining
Photographed on Skriverøya near Halden, Norway, in 2022, this series documents a landscape shaped by extraction and labor. The granite cuts reveal both precision and violence — sharp lines carved into ancient stone. What remains is a quiet tension between human intervention and geological time, where industry leaves its temporary mark on something vastly older.
