About this work:
Creativity lives on the edge of control and chaos. The brown tones—made from polyester and oil dust collected while sanding another painting—fell unpredictably into the epoxy, creating organic traces of process and accident. On the right, a photograph of loosely placed yet precisely arranged luggage straps contrasts with the stabilizing wooden frame behind, evoking a subtle dialogue between structure and movement.

The inspiration for these straps likely comes from many sources, yet I often sense a kinship with Henri Matisse’s Dance (1910). As in Matisse’s painting, the lines appear caught between motion and stillness, charged with a quiet tension. The forms seem to hover at the threshold where control gives way to spontaneity—where stillness becomes alive.
